Facebook has been testing a new version of Page Insights with select admins since June, and has started rolling it out to page owners worldwide.
With this new version, metrics such as “People Talking About This” have been made clearer, and “Virality” has been renamed “Engagement Rate” which now includes click data.
Page owners will now see more statistics on individual posts, including post clicks, photo views and negative feedback.
Previously, Facebook Page Insights would only let you know how many people you have reached, but now features how many people you have also engaged.
Users can easily download the new Insights, and the old export option is still available.
According to Facebook, here is what’s not changing:
All APIs associated with the old Page Insights will remain available to Page owners and developers; any future changes to these APIs will be announced in accordance with our Developer policies. We’ll also work to add APIs for new Page Insights metrics as they become available, so Page owners and Developers can track key metrics more easily.
It’s also important to note that there are no immediate plans to change People Talking About This (PTAT) as a public-facing metric on Pages; PTAT is still available via the old exports and API.
Facebook didn’t provide an estimated time frame for the new Page Insights rollout, but hopefully it doesn’t take as long as the “new” design announced in March.
